RE: Installing pipes
You gain more power but not as much as if you would have swapped out the aircleaner for the SE Aircleaner - my 05 jumped 15hp and 15ftlbs of torque with both exhaust and aircleaner. With some fine tuning maybe a bit more - next change the ignition this will add a few, changing the cams will add another 5 or so - your now around 78 or so HP and about the same torque numbers down at the low end on into the mid-range where it counts. Next jump -- as they say pass more gas and this means going to 88 to 95" with better pistons and heads to suck it in, blow it up and send it down the pipe. Exhaust and Aircleaner are cheap around $700 to do it to the max, next ignition and cams $1200 and finally upgrade to 95" another $1200 or so. I did all this in steps and measured it - I am now at about 97hp and same for torque and thats all that can be done and still have a reliable scoot. You can add a turbocharger but things are gonna start breaking!! good luck! I'll let you know how mine survives overtime.

The DFO is easier than the PC but doesn't alter ignition like the PC. The PC can take some time to get right and the possibility of having an issue due to misadjustment are higher with the PC, where as the DFO is a pretty easy setup/install. It all comes down to how much you are going to do to your bike, If you are doing more than air cleaner and mufflers and possibly cam, then go for the PC, otherwise the DFO will do a heck of a job.
