Default Project 79 shovelhead worth?

All I know is the bike is a 79 shovelhead, but would something like this be worth? Motor was rebuilt 2000 miles ago. He told me the tank was cracked, but had a replacement ready to go on. The bike is in ND.

My buddy just bought a real nice 81 shovel for $5,000. It had a lot of chrome, nice paint, rebuilt motor, and 4 boxes worth of extras.
He also looked at some others that were around the $3,500 to $4,000 range. That seems to be the going rate here in Texas, he looked at Craigslist for the Houston, San Antonio, Austin and some in Louisiana.
Don't know if this helps any.

The guy wanted 2000, or best offer. Not sure of the shape, just medical emergency he said. I was thinking of a different motor at the time of the post.

Buddy of mine picked up 2 shovels about a year ago, both of 'em '82's...

5K for the one ( solid and ran good )and about $3500 for the second one, which needed a little work...
