Default Big City Thunder Baffles Sound

Im not sure if I like the sound of the V&H BR pipes with the BCT baffles. It has a bit of raspy sound. And it is quite a bit louder.. What are your thoughts

They're louder? I spoke to Big City today and they said their Thunder Monster baffles were 20 percent quieter than the V&H and that they had a deeper sound.

They (BCT) were probably talking about the QQ "Quiet" baffles.

I have BCT on my Vance and Hines BigShots. Deeper and louder, no question.

You're correct. They did say it was the QBL-1994. Those are the quiet ones.

How quiet are they? Do they sound better than stock?

I ran the V&H baffles for 1000 miles. I pulled them out and ran no baffle for less than 100. I've got 1000 on my set of BCT Monster baffles.

Synopsis:

No baffle sounds like ashole.
Stock baffles have a good sound, fairly deep, slightly constricting sounding.
BCT baffles take a bit to get used to but I really enjoy their sound. Of course they're loud - you don't buy BR pipes for horsepower, that's for sure - but it's a good loud and manageable with the throttle. I really like them.

I totally agree, I have then in Short Shots and did the same except I had V&H quiet baffles in for a while, I love the sound of the BCT's

. +1
- V & H ShortShots w/ stock baffles (non-glass, perforated only) and BCT Monster baffles. Perfect sound - loud upon acceleration, but not overly obnoxious.
