Thumbs up HD factory Ape kit availble in March

I was at the dealer yesterday, and the parts guys where talking about alot of new parts coming out in the spring, with one of them being a full line of Apehangers. They have 14" and 16" in Black and in Chrome, with all the needed extended wiring, risers and cables for about $800. Is this price comparable with the aftermarket, for a complete setup?

A little overpriced. but thats to be expected with Harley. I paid $630 for mine, but it included all chrome controls, all braided cables, chrome switches, and wiring

There's a guy that sells them on ebay with everything. Cables, brake line, internal wiring with switches etc for around $450.00. Have no idea of the quality. I think he did have a good feedback score though.

I just did alittle looking around at the name brand 1 1/4" bars, range is 250 to 350, risers 100 to 200, braided cables and lines about 300 and wiring about 50. I don't know who makes HD bars or the other components, but if I bought say Carlina or Wild1, it would be about the same or maybe even more than the HD setup. I did see the ebay stuff for 400 to 600 for the setup, but with off brand or independent bars. Isn't there a HD dealer somewhere that does alot of internet sales for like 20% off retail? that would put the HD setup at about 650.

Hill Country Customs sells the complete kit. Bars, cables, controls in different heights, I don't have them on mine but I hear mostly good things about them. Here's the link to their site if you want to check it out.

Don't get me wrong I have bought plenty of HD stuff but it is pretty overpriced for what it should cost. I will say the quality of HD stuff is at least usually pretty good.

I think a lot of it's success or lack of, will depend on looks, angles etc. The main thing I now look for in a product, is quality and reliability, and the company in general behind the product.

320 buxx for the bar and the risers. Not unreasonable, IMO.
