It says its a 16" high bar and riser combination. Looks like 14" apes on a 2" riser. I was planning to order from Hill Country Cycles after I get through inspection in April, but now I have another option to think about.

I don't know who makes HD bars or the other components, but if I bought say Carlina or Wild1, it would be about the same or maybe even more than the HD setup.

Hill Country Customs will just as easily run the wiring through a set of Wild 1's, as they do their "house brand" (Drag Specialties, I think), and do the same set-up. The cost is only a little bit more for the price of the bars, but the "labor" package price is the same. They made up a set of Wild 1 - 16's for me a few weeks ago. They are the best to deal with when switching over to apes, and very knowledgible as far as what cables lengths to order and what will, and will not work. I cannot recommend them highly enough....

There are two I am aware of:
  1. Chicago Harley-Davidson, and
  2. Zanotti's

I think there was a pic of the new apes on the cover of Hot Bike Mag this past month. I was a Fat Boy Lo with a bunch of factory mods. Looked pretty nice.

The OP was talking about a complete set with cables and wires (like HCC) but the prices listed at dealer sites look like just bars and risers. If Harley is not going to sell the complete package, it won't be competition for HCC. Is Harley selling a cable & wire package separately?

In post #11 Klaybus pointed out the full set is not actually available until March 2010. You are right about the the current listing only being bars and risers.
