good evening all. i ran into a guy that wants to trade me his 2006 night train for my 99 EVO. my bike is perfect and his bike is cosmetically horrible. he told me its a 2006 fxstbi. the bike is fuel injected with a 200 rear tire and he says it has a 6 speed transmission. i always thought the 6 speed didnt come until 2007. does anyone know if there were any exceptions of a 2006 being offered with a 6 speed trans?

 

As far as I know, only the '06 Dyna's have the 6 speed.

 

My '02 Fat Boy has a six speed. It came with a 5 speed though. Somebody must have installed it.

 

My 06 NT has a 5 speed. I dont think it came out until 07 aand that was with the 96 CI. motor.

 

It was not a stock 6 speed until 2007 for Softails and baggers. The Dyna started in 2006 as the guinea pig. He could have had an aftermarket one installed.

 

yeah you are right, this is what i know to be true also, i dont get how this bike has the 6- speed if its a 2006..........weird

 

The 06 Dyna was the first 6speed from the factory, still a 88.
the 07's came with the 96's and all 6 speeds..
the 06 trains still had the factory 5 speed...
Still someone could have installed the 6 banger...

maybe they changed the cover to read 6 speed or it is built from parts. better check the vin

 

turns out the guy "forgot" what he had...i asked him how the 2006 nightrain could have a 6 speed...." i have had so many bikes.....i had the 06 DYNA, thats the one that had the 6 speed, not this one"
people are crazy......talk about a misleading listing.
