He gave it a good try.

We looked at the 2010's on the floor and they had the valve I was looking for but not the one he stocks. We then went to the service advisor and he just looked at us and shrugged his shoulders.

The mystery is officially solved. The o'ring type is not now, nor will be in the forseeable future, available at the retail level. Period. That's straight from H-D Tech Services. It's a production line part and all replacements are 44048-83's.

As for where you might actually find that style, I don't know, but it won't have a Harley part number on it.

What a learning exercise this has been. Production part only, indeed. Bah!

so i guess the o-ring type is a collectors item.
