You sound just like an idiot union worker out of bankrupt Detroit... there are plenty of "mom and pop" stores still in business... the ones that are managed well. Wally world is no threat to them. Why on earth do I want to spend my hard earned money at the local HD dealer buying a substandard product (one that is built by the lowest bidder) when I can buy a better product at a lower price somewhere else? The last person that I would listen to about fair market pricing is one that by collective bargaining has driven the price of vehicles through the roof and continued to do so until the company either went bankrupt, got bailed out by the tax payers, or no longer exists.

I never knew a good HD Gel battery could be had at Walmart.
If that is true, why would anyone pay almost twice that at a dealership, regardless of the political crapola?

First of all, I doubt that a battery of equal quality is available there for that price. But if it were I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. You can buy a free service manual with the savings.

Move a big walmart into a fairly small town, sure it will hurt the small stores. But I don't understand why that's supposed to make me want to pay double elsewhere? On purpose? Let's get real here!

I choose not to get into a argument online, as it's like winning in the special Olympics.

I when I need to replace the battery use the HD battery as it has done well for me. I also use a battery tender jr to extend the life of the battery.

Great advice, as you read in the previous threads about this, those substandard Harley batteries are failing left and right after only six or seven years! What a rip off! We all need to support Wal Mart and their superior Chinese made products. China needs the money to lend to us since we spent all of ours buying Jap stuff. Those Union Clowns saying "Buy American The Job You Save Might Be Your Own" don't understand that the 10% unemployment that we enjoy now is the result of our C.E.O.s being underpaid, and us not sending more jobs overseas to our "friends". Oh yeah, "idiot union workers" built your Harley, if you own one. Maybe you should be ridin' a grinder.

I just paid $115 after reading a month before that they were $150. It seemed worth it after 7 years of use from the first one. I am as thrifty as the next guy, but will support harley dealers as I want my local one to stay in business.

That's what I am talking about... I and many many others have had to rebuild our Harley's in order to make them reliable... plus every HD battery you buy the profits go to Japan. You see Yuasa manufactures HD batteries on a low bid basis at their plant in PA., but it is only an assembly plant so they can mark the batteries "made in the USA" in order to fool the fools like you. Yuasa batteries are great batteries, but if you think for a minute that you are getting top of the line specs with the HD low bid line I have a bridge I'd like to sell ya.

PS... Eversmart batteries at Walmart are made and distributed by Johnson Controls here in the USA>
