lifts/jacks, which way to go?

I've got the yellow harbor freight jack. Just did cams on my softail custom and the jack works great. I straddled the bike and made sure I had clearance from the shocks while jacking it up. I was amazed how balanced it is on the jack, though it looks like its gonna fall off backwards. I shook the crap out of it and decided not to even strap it down. Can't beat the price compared to others.

Damn you Scasey, you scared the hell outta me! Had me jumping into clothes and scurrying down to the shop with a flashlight...
The herry shocks only stick down about 1/16" below the frame at one end, so the rubber coating on the jack flats should take care of that. For a minnit there, I was wondering if I wasn't bending the shock rods! The bike balances with the jack just behind the kick, and misses them anyway.
I won't need any more coffee now.
