Thanks for all the comments. The pipes (I think) are made by Bartel Exhaust but I am not sure. I can't find them anywhere so I figured it was a little company that has since gone out of business.

I guess I should clarify about the cost of the diamond plate. It turned out that from the piece I bought, I have a lot left over (probably enough for four more plates the size I made). So the price isn't so bad. I think if you can find somewhere that sells it locally (so it doesn't have to ship) you can get 1'x1' pieces for $5-6 each.

For true duals, I would think you could just mount the whole bag higher. If you look at my third picture from the top, you'll see the back of the bag. The two holes without bolts in them are for mounting it in the bike. Just imagine having those holes about 2-3 inches lower, which would make your bag higher, away from your pipes. And I think having the center of the bag bolted to your bike would negate the need for a bottom bracket. My .02.

I just wish someone could figure out a solution for the weather in Colorado!

Now the zip ties hold the bag on the frame super tight and the stock straps just cover the ties. Zero movement so I don't think it rubs much. I did use the same type method to hold my bottle opener. I used a section of an old tag as abacking plate.

Thats Special!!!
