Default Side plates for detach sissybar on 07 Fatboy

Hey guys, Well the Fatboy is done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got my Heritage bags installed and it looks AWSOME!. only one prob. they (HD) had to remove my quick detach sissy bar. I looked through the parts catalong lastnight, yet I could'nt find a detach sissybar side plate for a Heritage. My docking posts for my Fatboy, where 9 and a quart apart .. 1st and rear bolt on strut. Well sense they had to install the missing bolt on my strut (which is a setup as on a Heritage) I can't put the Fatboy side plates back on. This was lastnight (01/14/10) So I haven't gotten a chance to check online, This was the first place I came too. ( To ask the Bikers). I will get the new pics up in the next day or too.

I still havee all of the hardware for the sissybar. I either have to cut a notch out on the side plate to allow for the mddle bolt running through the strut for the saddlebag, or check with HD to see if they have oone. ??the one you sent the link to on here is the one I allready have.

I went and looked at mine to make sure.. the picture in the one link above must be for the 53810-00 cause the 53815-00 has a slot for the middle bolt thats for the Heritage bags.

Mine the 53815-00 has a notch about 6inn from the front that allow it to fit over the middle bolt... the book doesn't show the slot but if U check it out at the dealer parts U'll see it should work for U...

I've looked all over the web and so far they only show them without the slot for the middle bolt.

Heres a link from Latus and it says it for the Heritage bags.. so it would have to have the slot in it to fit them even if it doesn't show it..
http://www.latus-harley-davidson.com...tachable-3.htm

I looked at the box mine came in again and its for sure is the 53815-00 even the box doesn't show the slots either...
That picture used on for the 53815-00 that I've seen would confuse anyone looking for one with the slots for the Heritage bags because none of them show it having the slot.

Heres some pics for U to see....Thought this would clear things up and help ya...sorry for the thumb prints on it.. put thick coat of wax on them for winter and didn't wipe them off real good yet..

what you might need to do is piece something together, use the detach side plates for the heitage with your fatboy sissybar to accomodate the wider width. There deff are the side plates that you are looking for, for the heritage, I had them on my 06 and now on my 09

Yep those are the one's I need. I even thought about doing it myself and cutting a section of it out on mine. But yes that's all I need is the Heritage side plates, I can use my Fatboy sissybar and etc. I guess I now own a FATIAGE !

glad we finally got it figured out... like I said the photos in all the web sites I went to and even my box that my detach sides plates came in dosen't show the slot.
Weird, but not surprisingly ....Hate to have to cut the others. probably really messed up the chrome..

well if you buy the new ones you could sell the old ones on the forum classified. did you get to keep the turn lamps after the bags were added?
