Ok like they would say in a clothing store... "our sizes run a little bigger" hehehe... (Carlini's) so, depending on how do you like to orient your apes (backwards, centered or forward) you can do fine with 14" or 16"... Gangster apes grips are turned out (forward) a little, you may want to take that into account too.
I measured mine when ordering, calculated how 18" would fit and felt right at the time, then when I got them I realized the size differences...
Mimo.

I agree with Mimo, in regards to the size. I am 5'8" and with my 18's and a heartland kit (saddle sat a little lower than a normal seat in my opinion) my hands were just above my shoulders which I didn't mind on long rides. My drag bars that I just put back on my standard seemed to pull me a bit more forward causing me to have some lower back pain on longer trips. Sorry I can't speak on beach bars, but the misconception that apes are uncomfortable is just that in my opinion, a MISconception.
I enjoyed them and the ONLY reason I took em off is b/c I am trying to sell my bike and EVERYONE else doesn't like them or is worried about them. I can't wait to sell my standard and start pimpin out my Street Glide with some apes. My 18's are for sale in the classifieds with cables.
