I have a 2008 Fatboy and got mine painted because I didn't like the logo either (got the old fatboy logo minus the fender stripes). I sent it away to Harley to be painted and they did a good job as long as you have it wet sanded. There was orange peel in the paint, but ever since I had it wetsanded it looks great.
Love the look you got goin there with your Fatty. Is that Candy Red Sunglo? What did they charge you for the paint job?
Glad I'm not the only one...went to go start up the inferior bike to go trade it in for my fatboy...****ing thing wouldn't start!!!! Damn metric POS. It starts, but dies after about 5 mts. Pissed...Another delay! Yes got gas and reserve is in right position.
I'm struggling to see how this post has anything at all to do with this thread other then having the word "fatboy" in it .

Not to handy with a computer, but for the two that asked above. I got it painted from Harley. I believe it is called the spectrum paint program (don't have the catalog handy, but its in there) You can get any color and any logo from like 1979 to the present. It cost me around $800.00 for the 3 tins. If you do go this route I would recommend having it wetsanded and buffed when you get it back. Mine had some orange peel in it, not bad, but I like perfection so had it wetsanded and buffed and looks awesome. The color is the 2008 red color....I believe it is candy red sunglo, or something like that the 2008 color.
Get a new emblem and get it painted - make it your own one-of-a-kind. Painting is next on my list, I like the HD logo on the deluxe but will probably swap it out with the new tins.
