I'd do the apes first. Apes for me was more of a comfort mod than cosmetics. By far the best thing I've done to make my bike fit better, and also make it look better. Wheels are on my list, but the handlebar swap is something I had to do First.

i have the 1.25, 16 inch apes...and last week installed the fat spoke wheels. Went with Sinister wheels for the spokes...and they look amazing. I agree with previous person...apes best for comfort. But the wheels are just so cool! OK, maybe Im a little Biased! But wheels cost more so do it while you have the $!

For me, there's no question about it, adding the apes was definitely the most dramatic upgrade so far. It was like getting a new bike. A really comfortable riding position and they look insane.

Really depends on how much cash we are talking here. Apes you can probably do for under $500 which includes risers, SS cables, but if you do like I did and chrome all the controls, Master Cylnder, new grips then you may be talking much more.

Wheels are nice but once you have them off then you may want new rotors, Rear Pulley and while your at it Chrome Brake Calipers...

What's the budget here?

do the wheels first.

it'll give us more time to convince you to go at least 14" on the apes.

How much $$$ we talken...

$600.00-700.00 for nice apes/risers/clamp/cables or $1400.00-2000.00 for nice wheels/tires. PARTS ONLY...

I always say get the costly stuff done first then worry about the little stuff....so IMO wheels/tires.

And get nickled and dimed later.
