Winter Project under way (With Pic's)
#51
The lift I got is solid... it isn't one you would use in a full bike shop, but it's more than adequate for someone's home workshop. Here's some reasons why I got it:
1. price; it's under $500 and you pick it up at the store saving over $100-200 in shipping the others would charge.
2. It comes wth the tire vise already; others charged extra for that.
3. the pneumatic lift cylinder is huge; way bigger than the Kendon I was looking at
4. it is moveable. It comes with a little dolly and can be moved all over.
5. the underside edge is rolled into a C channel to give it strength
6. it has a drop out for the rear wheel
7. the ramp comes off when working on the bike for a while
8. it is air powered
9. you can add wings for $179
Anyway, take a look.

thanx guys.
It had me wondering what I might of did wrong.
The tag bracket I made out of the same piece of steel I made the coil bracket from, bought it from Home Depot for less than $10
I actually made two tag mounts, 1 vertical & 1 horizontal.
and yes it just bolts up to the belt guard hole.
picture of it...
Tried the tank lift out and did not like the gap in front of the dash panel at all, so no tank lift me.
Also got my wires installed, looks 'hot rod' to me with the coil between the cylinders.
My front fender now sits farther from the tire than it did, so I'm going to enlarge the holes a 1/4" or so...
till I get a new fender...
Not much left to do at the moment.
Waiting on fund$ for more new goodies.
I'm going to talk to story808 about some custom engraving soon too.
hope ya'll are enjoying this, I know I am...

Het man tag looks good but be careful, I made 1 and mounted it to the belt guard and someone walked by kicked it and straightened it out then it broke the tab on swingarm doing 30 down the road. The tabs arent the strongest thing on the bike, it may be easier to mount it with the axel.

I didn't say what size they are...(5/16" x 18 thread x 1.5" or 1.75" long), maybe that will help in finding where there go.
I am speculating at this point, but will confirm later.
Yosemite:
thankx for the info man, I will check them out.
chrome-dome-dave:
yup, got it... thanx man
SpicOfTheDevil:
the one for the turn signals are shorter, but good looking out man
thanx for the link to the wire swap.
I am about to take it back apart to get the brackets painted.
hopefully I find where they go then.

Well, I was able to end the day with two small updates...
First:
I re-wired the coil so that the front wire is the front cylinder, back wire for the back cylinder.
Second:
I finished wiring the horn, and relocating it...
still pondering my next mod...
maybe drill my bars and run my controls internally, even though there is only about 4" showing on the stock bars...
anyways, Merry x-mas

Amazing how much better the bike looks with the coil between the jugs
Did you have to take one of the shocks off to get the horn in there?
yes, but just one shock...
easy enough to do on the kick stand to.
got it back together and off the stand (man this thing looks almost like a toy being so short)...
I like the way it stands on the kick stand now that its lower too....
I took it for a short ride today.
definitely feels tighter, also feels like I can feel the torque a little more, now that its tighter.
I really want to get into this motor, just concerned about the warranty.
doing cams next would be awesome
