Default Deluxe purchase for xmas

Needs some purchase price help here guys. My buddys wife took me to the dealer today because she wants to buy him a 09 COMPLETELY stock softail deluxe for under the tree this year. (he was at the dealer eyeing the bike up ) She wants to know if the price of 19,700 is a good price , taking into concideration the time of year , the fact that it is a 09 , and the slow economy. Thanks

Call a bunch of different area dealers... you can find the average what they are charging, and normally they will throw in money for accessories (exhaust, bags, chrome, etc) in form of a gift card. I was looking at a RK 09 and i found a 1500 dollar difference between different dealers. Each one will also throw in some free stuff, so look into that

I went to Tilley's Harley Davidson of Stateville, N.C. about 3 months ago and was quoted as out the door for $18000 flat for a Deluxe

Paid 18,100 in May for mine. Check out Moroneys in NY state. Might be worth the trip.

I take it $19,700 includes tax, title, registration and all that? Otherwise it sounds high to me.

I would say that's about $2k too high for an '09, this time of year, in this economy. $18k out the door would be closer to reality.

Saw one at Rochester Harley Davidson, MN this morning - new, black, beautiful. Sign said $2500 off.. I think the price was $15,600 or close to that. Add 7.5% sales tax, $16600 + registraion. You can call them 507-288-9050

Default Too high

I gotta agree with the other responses - they're at least 2 grand too high. We bought my wife's '09 Deluxe back in August. Granted, it was previously titled, but it was 2 months old with 225 miles on it (another story all on its own...). The bike was bone stock, other than LoJack installed -- $16,500 OTD. If that's the one he wants, I'd push 'em hard. If they won't budge or won't move enough, it's not the only Deluxe out there.
