Interesting that I read this here. On my Chevy Avalanche forums we've all switched out our daytime running lights to amber bulbs for safety and member recognition. A lot of us have also added a diode in the fuse box under the hood so that the drls stay on even when the headlights come on. I've noticed that the spot lights on my ultra go off with the high beams. I may need to look at a schematic to see about stopping that issue. If I run ambers, I'd like to have them on with the high beams also.

The only difference I notice in the lighting is that it's yellow. I like the way it reflects off the highway signs and I swear I can see them better.

i've had them on my flhtc for years. i always thought that oncoming traffic might pick up the 2 amber lites quicker than clear. nobody has pissed me of yet so maybe they are noticable. at least it is something different to look at. not much good at nite tho. also the non fluted lamps are more brilliant than the fluted design.

Lamin-x also sells the amber film for the passing lamps. Cut to the exact size from the factory and easy to instal and you can take them back off if you get tired of them. I just got a set but haven't put them on yet, there isn't any adhesive involved so you can take them off and reposition them until you get it right.
