Default Heritage Classic Windshield Question

Does anyone know if the windshield on the Heritage can be adjusted lower?...the top of the windshield sits right at my line of sight, I was hoping to lower it about an inch or so.(it is an '06)

I have an '00 and have the same problem, it doesn't look to me like it is adjustable. I just bought a replacement shield (Lexan only) from DennisKirk for $119, it fits the stock quick-detach hardware. It is a 19" shield, the stock one is 20.5"

Dealer cut mine down free of charge at my 1000m service. Had 2 inches cut down and its about perfect.

Not adjustable, unfortunately. Some folks cut down the stock shield. A better way to go, in my opinion (having tried the cut-down route myself) is to go for a CeeBailey replacement shield at 2" below stock height. It's twice as thick as the stock shield, has better dynamics and better optics, and will run you a C-note. Look here.

The Heritage shield is not adjustable. All you have to do is cut it where you want it. There are directions int the DIY section. I had to cut my wife's twice before I got it wehre she wanted it.

Bill

Mine was like yours, the top of it in the line of sight. It got quite annoying and was worse when riding two up. I fixed it by taking it off. I really like the ride better without a widshield. I only put it on now when it gets cold mid 30s but that doesn't happen too often here in Florida. Good luck with yours.

Thanks for the compliment. Yes, it's a Mustang seat, and also a Mustang sissy bar pad. Very comfy indeed.

Mine was too high, but it is a piece of cake to trim one to your preferences. Doesn't take more than 10-15 minutes. Mark the shield where you want the cut line to be, put some masking tape on the remaining part below the cut line so you don't scratch it, cut the shield on the line with a saber saw (or take it off and use a band saw), then just sand and polish the cut edge. Why on earth spend $100+ to save a few minutes of work?

Because we're mechanically autistic? Actually, the CeeBailey is simpler a better shield in every respect.
