If you really did just strip the head, I hereby nominate you for today's lucky pup award.
All you'll have to do is get the damn things out so you can replace them with a better grade of aftermarket bolts and all's well.

Good Luck.

PS if all else fails, there's always Vise-Grips cause Allen head bolts usually have enough of a head to clamp down on.

Ok, here is my gameplan - try using the bolt extractor first, if that does not work I will drill the head off and because there is a washer underneath, I should be able to get a vise grip on there (once the washer is removed). Replace with high quality aftermarket bolts.

Until I got my torque wrench I was in the same boat as you are with stripped bolts.
Thanks for posting that this is the second great tip i picked up tonite. getting some good chit here tonite. thanks

Hey Bugsplat ........

Before I went to the Visegrips I would cut a slot with a Dremel tool and try a big flathead screwdriver 1st. If that fails then go to the Visegrips. Less chance of damaging the surrounding area.

Left hand drill bits and an air drill. The bolts are held in by head pressure and not by the threads usually on these. Try to drill out the bolt by placeing the bit a little larger than the allen hole. About the time the bit gets thru the bolt it will usually catch and back out the bolt. Just pray you or someone else did not lock tite these bolts in the past. I deal with this all the time and this is the fix 99% of the time.

Some more great tips here - cutting a slot with the dremel and the LH drill bit option sound like workers as well. Should place bets on which one(s) I try and which one finally does the trick. I will be tackling this task this week and will let everyone know which option worked - my guess is many of these options suggested will do the trick. Appreciate the all the info - this forum rocks!
