Smile Opinions on Saddleman Gel Seats

Understanding that opinions are like a......., everyone has one, I still throw this question out soliciting input. Does anyone have any experience with the Saddlemen Explorer Gel Seat? I am looking at getting into a gel seat and may have a line on a pretty good deal. I ride an 05 Deuce, am 6'2" & 260 lbs - is this potentially a seat I will like? Thanks for experienced input.

I have a LePera Barebones Solo seat and rear pillion for my wife... Both seats have the biker gel in them... You know when I went to buy these seats I was going in with the intentions not to buy the gel. But the sales lady sold my wife on how great the seat would be for her pillion.

So I said screw if she is doing it I will do it too... When I finally got the seats back I was like what the hell these things dont have any special gel etc... it feels like a damn normal seat... So I called and made sure they put the gel in the seat, and they said yup we did.. Take your wife for a long ride and see how it feels...

So we went for about a 5 hour ride... And you know what the seat molded to my ***, and felt pretty damn comfortable, and the test of all tests is my wife did not Bitch all the way there and all the way back... So that means the seat and the gel was worth the money...

Honestly you wont notice the gel at first but then when you ride for awhile you will start to feel the seat spread your weight out evenly... I would do it again.

It passed the wife test on a lowered softy so you know its got to be worth it...LOL

Good luck.

I have a flamed solo gel from Saddlemen and its not bad. I also have a Mustang for the real long haul. I can ride the Saddlemen for a few hours than I need to reset the the ole butt.

I have an Explorer on a 85 FXRP, it is by far it is the best seat I have ever bought in 45 years of riding!

Awesome lower back support, and my passengers just love the seat!

I am looking at a 09 FXD, the Explorer will be the first thing I will put on it!
