I'm a full face helmet kind of guy. Those remind me of what I wore back in the 1970s when I had a Honda CT70. Full face is a lot warmer in the winter as well.
Biltwell helmets are worthless if you get on the highway. They don't have a firm enough fit to stay on. The wind starts pulling it off. Maybe a different story if you have a windshield. Good around town, as long as you dont get into a wreck that is.
Really? I've never had any problems with lifting, and I ride fast without a windshield. Right before Thanksgiving, I went on a 300 mile ride just to blow out the spiders from the exhaust and my Biltwell felt great.
I do have an old Fulmer that I've had since the mid 70's. It lets so much wind in, it feels like it's actually liftining my head.
There's a thread on Chopcult.com about with pics from a guy who hit a mountain at 30 mph with his Biltwell. He did break his jaw, but admits that would have probably happened with anything less than a full face helmet.
url8, I never met "Shakey Jake" but I heard that he was a great guy, (and anything but shakey)
They look great, and I am sure the price is somehow due to the very high quality. I don't know about sweating into a leather lining, tho. But then, different helmets for different people.
