I know exactly what you are talking about. Loved my pewter and pearl Deluxe when I got it. After awhile there were days just like you describe. Bought new tins and had em painted (sig pic) and kept the stock tiins just in case. After bout 6 months I sold the stock ones. Love the new paint and wouldn't change a thing now. Based upon what you have said, you are probably not gonna be unconditionally happy with the color you have now.

honestly I think I am alot like you, just basically never satisfied with what I have. I am not trying to be an ******* just honest.
I have had 3 Harleys in 6 months LIKE THE BIKES but always missing somthing also restored many many nice cars over the years (sold). click the link at the bottom of my sig and you will see proof of that.

But I just fn love my 09 Fatboy, Denim black and l@@ks awesome.
Like said above when I go to the garage and look at her I LIKE what I see everytime and right now I have no thought of selling or trading but I'm always thinking of the mods I gotta do.

The only thing I don't like about the color is the swoosh stripe on the tank... I wish they would have just done the side tank panel, like the old bikes.

Just my 2 cents.

Just buy a new bike every year in a different color until you die. You won't be satisfied but at least you'll have owned every color you can think of.

I'm not a big fan of the tank design on this one either. I know it's retro but I prefer the regular side panels. That's an easy fix though. Wouldn't cost too much just to have the tank painted. It's definitely an option. All new tins or a complete paint is another option. And last but not least, buying a different color every year works for me too. I've actually been pretty close to doing that. I've purchased two so far this year.Bought the SG in July. Liked the color but not the bike.
