Parking at Stores
#21
I've gone shopping just a couple of times, not planned, just picking up some things on the ride home (usually a request from the wife to pick up milk...that kind of deal...LOL). I usually park just a couple spots away from everyone and if between cars, have learned to park far enough back so that a car pulling in sees the bike in time. Not a fan of the side walk parking as I've seen it attract attention too many times from passer byes. I've seen bikes ticketed in Atlanta where I work when parked near the handicapped spots so thats probably not a good idea.

that actually was a thread. It went on FORRRREEEEEEVVVVEERRRRR, was resurrected, went on, brought back, and the mods finally shut it down. It was ridiculous how many pages there were about what to do with a damned gas cap.

I used to park right outside the door, usually a little boxed in type area near our wal-mart. I've seen the Local PD do it, as well as many different types of bikes. But i get this "store manager" with a power complex tell me i cant park there even though there is like 3-4 bikes there. But whats funny was she looked at me head to toe and said no. I dunno if its cause of my beautiful golden brown tan or what. . So instead i park right in their break area, and make sure my pipes are facing them.

Man,...... You guys critique EVERYTHING! LOL
Are you okay with me wearing white underwear????? (Not too many hash marks).
I park up on the sidewalk near the door, but out of pedestrian traffic.
I am never there long. Not like I am grocery shopping with only 2 saddlebags.
Not like the fools that go to the movies. No windows to watch your bike, two hour safety-zone for the thieves..
A bike is for riding (or sitting in front of a tavern).
A bike is not for shopping and movie-going. A quick errand to the hardware store is one thing, but to wander around the store all day with the sunshine out? C'mon man. Let's get real.

You mean to tell me I can't ride my bike to the movies? I guess I should stop commuting to work on it too since it just sits out there all day parked.
