I do the stabil and let it run briefly, then top off with a fuel container at home.

Interestingly, I have not used Stabil in my snowmobile (carb) or my plow truck (injected) for the last 2 seasons, and they both fire right up when the snow flies?

Greetings,

This is what I do...and hope the weather isn't too bad so I can ride!

Top off the tank, put in the Stabil, ride home. All mixed and ready to sit. I ride all winter, but I travel for work and sometimes the bike sits for a few weeks at a time.

The 10% ethanol unleaded breaks down in about 10 days, so a fuel stabilizer is a great idea. I do just what you posted, fill er up and take for a short ride.

I would also add, if you are going to let it sit for awhile, fogging your cylinders.
I ride all year, but I winterize my boat, quad, mowers, ect. every year. I seem to have less problems over the years, since I made it a habit to add Stabil and fogging.

you run fogging oil through the carb or squirt it in the cylinders to to lube cylinders.Fogging oil is an anticorrosive that will protect the internal surfaces of the carburetor and the cylinders
