Works for me.
One suggestion would be "IF" the new light is at all fragile, in other words has plastic parts. I would give some thought to fabricating a small plate to fit underneath to deflect any rocks that the tire might kick up. That way the rocks won't be able to damage it or the wiring.

Only potential issue is most states require the signals to be a set distance apart. if a vehicle was coming from behind and you were in the middle lane of a highway at night and signal for a lane change the person might not realize which direction you're actually wanting to go. I have signals built into the light but they are actually directional in nature to indication left/right
