I dropped my bike off today to have a new cam installed... it is the T-Man TR-625 cam. Should be ready tomorrow or Friday and hopefully all this rain will be gone by then. I have really enjoyed the SE 211 but with the other components installed on my bike it needed a little bit more. I'll be listing the SE 211 cams that are coming out of my bike in the classifieds if anyone is interested.
Care to give any info on the 590 like what rpm the torque comes on or the range of the power band...etc? Just curious..
I've got the dyno chart somewhere around here; I'll upload it when I find it. I switched to the 590 from the Wood TW6G-7. I will say this- The Wood cam hit harder sooner (could've had something to do with me swapping to a 55mm t/b and 4.89 injectors at the same time). It did exactly what I thought it would- Gained hp, lost tq. It was at 98/109; switch produced 107/107.
the 211'S are a little to late come on for my kind of riding.......I ride where they are just starting.....
Yeah...I have heard several people people comment on this. The cam was in the bike when I purchased it and actually performed well 89hp & 96tq with a Power Commander and Big Radius BSS. Pretty good power band (made power to the rev limiter) and it soungs awesome. Most folks comment on the cam specs without any experience with the cam but when someone who actually has this cam speaks you get a different opinion (I am in no way refering to you, just a general observation). I did quite a bit of research about this cam and I don't recall one person that actually had this cam not being satisfied...again most negative comments were in reference to the specs. I think it is one of the best bangs for the buck depending what's in your bike, mine came from the factory with the 95" motor. Since installing T-Man Stage II heads and a bigger throttle body it just isn't enough cam for my bike.
Anyhow, I didn't start this thread to defend the 211 cam but to talk about the new install.
how did it come out???? if U got a dyno don't forget to post it in the dnyo thread.....
Just tuned it to 3000rpm and will change the oil and filter after 250 miles and do the final tune. It's been raining but I got to ride a little today...will ride some more tomorrow. Feels good so far. I'll be sure and let you guys know when it's done.
