Default Wheel Installation Kit 43851-08

I am looking at HD wheels and it says that I have to purchase a wheel installation kit for my 25mm 2008 Deluxe.

It does not explain what this installation kit is. Are these 25mm bearings? Do new HD wheels not come with bearing installed? Is it spacers or both?

I would not think that it would be bearings cuz HD sells the same wheels but are year specific. So would not a 2008 wheel that came off a Night Train or Custom fit on a Fatboy or Deluxe with out needing this installation kit?

Thanks for any help.

New HD wheels do NOT come with bearings and yes...I believe the installation kit is spacers and bearings. I just got a new wheel for my Dyna and it did not come with bearings. Hope this helps.

Now, if you're buying wheels that came off of another bike and they share the same axle size, you should be good to go.

The wheel installation kits have bearings and spacers to match up to your bike. Some of Harley's newer wheels don't come with bearings. You would need the wheel install kit for those applications.

What's the reason you think you need the kit? If you buy a rim that has a 25mm axle, just put new bearings in your rim and use your current spacers. That's what I did when I swapped to a 21". Rim is from an '09 NT, and I used the same spacers from my 16" stock rim.

I just ordered new wheels from Rampage and they are being shipped with tires mounted and balanced. Do I need to have this installation kit when I take it to my installation guy? Can anyone help me on this?

You should be fine. Our wheels come with correct fitment and no spacers needed. However we do supply chrome spacers. An HD dealership was even glad to here this.

Knowing Rampage their set up will be the same (not sure about the spacers) because Wendell has been doing this a few years.

I may be wrong because I haven't dealt with them but I woulldnt spend the money just yet.

Hope this helps.
