Question Tallest riser with stock cables on Softail Custom

Bike came stock with 2" risers (measured up from base of riser to middle of handlebars). Looking to go with taller straight risers but not sure how tall I can go without needing to replace cables and wires. Seems like I'm safe with 3" risers, but would rather go 4" (or more) if I can. Has anybody done this? Any ideas?
Thanks!

I put Sweeper bars on my 06 Heritage and it had 4 1/2 in pullback risers and all the stock cables worked. I also have an 06 Std and the bars look the same as the Sweepers so I don't think there will be any issue with 4" straight risers.

Cool. I'm gonna go with the 4" risers then. I'll post up in a couple weeks how it went.

Well, the 4" straight risers fit with no problem. There's just enough slack in the cables and wires to allow them to fit. Only problem I ran into was the stock bolts are 1/2X13 thread and the new risers were 1/2x20 thread and didn't come with the bolts. So, I went to the hardware store and bought some stainless bolts. Done.

Thanks tslonige!

Default tallest riser with stock cables on softtail custom

I went with the StreetSlamers and the stock cables were too long,so I bought cables from a std and have a great fit.
