Can't speak directly about the Softail Standard, but the Heritage Softail prior to 2007 were 88 CI with carborated engines. The 07 and later went to the 96 and EFI.

Not enough of a drawback if you really want a Deuce IMO.

True that...you read quit a bit "Fits all Softails except Deuce" But that didn't stop me...get out a test a few.

Snook592, I fully agree with you that test rides are essential to find the "right" motorcycle and I fully intend to do that. Getting some feedback from people who own the various models I have already looked at, though, is also very helpful.Much of the info being offered is either validating or adding additional info to my existing opinions.

I hate to say it but most metrics ride the same. HD do not sporties, dyna, softail and baggers all are very different. Softail and Dyna's do not "look" much different but the balanced motor in the softail is huge factor by it self.

+ whatever to you going out and riding a few. If you can not find a dealer that lets you test ride go to eagle riders and rent a dyana (any) then a few from the softail (night train and customs are the same but a deluxe and night train will ride different.)

good luck

I don't know where this came from but I have an 06 FLSTI, Heritage and 06 FXSTI, Standard and both are 88,s and fuel injected. Love them both. Sold my Street Glide, love the Softails. Counter ballanced is sooooo much better than rubber mount. The Dyna's are also rubber mount.
