From Lyndall's website.
"The recommended pads for use on the LRB rotors are the Lyndall Z+ units and the company even offers a little something rarely heard of nowadays: a lifetime warranty on the rotors if Z+ pads are used exclusively, provided there is never any metal-to-metal contact. Plus the Z+ pads require no break-in and are designed to have no squeal, so although they may appear a little pricey, properly maintained, you never have to buy another set. But if the guarantee isn't enough to impress you, the performance should."

I ended up doing 5-10 mild stops and call fair. Yes the Lyndall pads work very well, I really like them, no big difference but stop smoothly. Now I have to ride it a couple of weeks to see how much brake dust I get. I am an auto mechanic for 20 yrs, I never break in any of my customers brake, however I do recomend the customer not to do heavy braking for the first 20 stops, never had a problem.

I've seen some automotive rotors and pads recommend progressively harder braking till the rotors hit a particular temperature, then the cool down drive.

I just installed Lyndall pads ft and rear w/new rotors and they set in right away, within a few miles. At first the ft brake was a little spongy but after the ride it is nice and firm. They do stop well, just need to see if they are really dust free

I've been running Lyndalls on all my scoots for a few years and never had an issue with not following the break-in procedure.
