Default Heritage Kick Stand -- what's a shorty to do...

I can't believe that I'm the only person who's ever had this problem, but, hey, maybe my legs are really that much shorter than the rest of the world.... anyway, I can't reach my kickstand on my 09 Heritage. I just traded up to an 09 from my 98 heritage. My 98 was really lowered, almost too much, so that I had to lean the bike to the right to get the kickstand to clear the ground enough to come up. It had an extender off the back of the stand that I could reach with my foot. The new bike doesn't have an extender, and when up off the stand, it clears the ground, so I can't even use th roll forward method to get the kickstand to start coming back. I looked in the HD catalog, there doesn't seem to be an extender for use on my kickstand, although there is one listed for touring models.

Anyone else had this problem who can offer solution, or anyone with recommendation for kickstand extender?

try walking the bike forward a few inchs then jump on the bike. This may give you the 3 inchs u need. My softail has a few inchs of play if u push the bike it will walk forward a few inchs when its still on the stand. That may buy you a inch or 2 that you need. But i would not trust the stand 100% doing this have someone with you when you try this see if it works.

Any chance you can lean the bike a bit to drag the stand where it wil jump back at you? I dont know how safe that would be i guess its alll depends on how far away the stand is from the ground

I believe that Deluxes come stock with a kickstand that has a extender. Maybe fitting one is an option?

My mom is 5'3. She has an extension on her kickstand that looks like the stock one just longer. They are out there.
