Got my 06 Heritage wobbles and clunks fixed today -- tightened up the pinch bolts, bearings and main stem. $40 bucks, but at least it's quiet now and much smoother. The dealer sd it was really loose. It just started a slight wobble two weeks ago and it went to crap real fast. Anyone out there with a Heritage and you get a front end clunk or wobble, get it in and fixed asap, it just gets worse fast!

my 06 deuce had the same problem had the neck bearings tightened numerous times never fixed the problem, turns out that it was a defective front tire, now as smooth as can be.

Just going to get mine back from the dealer this morning, took it in for that wobble and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it... What was wrong with the tire that caused the problem, or how did you figure it out? Was it luck, shotgunning, or did you actually replace it because you found the defect some way?

Have played around with it a bit more since the dealer couldn't find it. It only wobbles when decelerating in gear from about 40 to 30 mph. It seems a bit more noticeable in the lower gears. The bars shake pretty good from side to side when it does so, but it doesn't do it every time. No shake at all if in neutral and coasting down and the brakes don't seem to have much effect on it either. Anyone have some ideas???

Oh, steering neck was checked and not found loose, pinch bolt was good, etc..

You mght want to have the front tire balance checked if it is only at those speeds.

Had a similar wobble with my 97 Classic. Previous owner lost a front wheel weight. Had the front tire balanced and 5 loose spokes tighten ..... problem solved. Had the fall away check as well and the head bearings repacked as well.

I thought it was a warranty item -- and it depends on the dealer it seems. The dealer here chared me $45 to fix it - I asked what about 2 yrs unlimited miles warranty? He sd it doesn't cover regular maint items like bolts loosening up etc. I called the dealer where I bought the bike (a few hundred miles from where I live) and they said bring it in and they would fix for free. I've found a huge difference in what dealers in the bigger cities charge for service versus smaller cities as well. Dealers here in the 'big city' are about 150 to 200 bucks higher for just about all services like 5k, etc.
