I thought about painting my tins, I sick of HDŽ all over EVERY BLOODY THING ON THE BIKE!!!!!
What I'll probably do is wait till I get new tins then save or sell original.
This might have been said before and this might make alot of people flip out but has anyone just got so sick of their stock flashy paint that they flat rattle can painted their bike?? I read an article about a guy that got so sick of people thinking he was a newbie that he bought barbaque paint and painted his bike.. anyone else do something like this????
Only a newb would care if people thought he was a newb, and then rattle can his bike.
I say go for it! Rattle away! I have seen a bunch of guys rattle can their tins and came out perfect! Even seen a few cars done that way, clearcoat and all, and it was hard to tell it wasn't done in a booth.
you can get amazing results with rattle cans if you know what paint to buy, take your time and prep, and are patient... you can always just powder coat them as well!
I rattle caned underneath the fender cuz a chunk of paint chiped off and I didn't feel like dealing with insurance and I didn't want it to start to rust so I hit it with some spray paint.
Yep. I painted my FXSTC with rustoleum flat black. You can see pics under my profile. Someone else posted this link the other day that you should really look at if you are serious about spray paint. http://www.jockeyjournal.com/forum/s...ighlight=paint
93 Fatboy - Used Black Bedliner spray for trucks. No chipping, peeling or anything, thinking of doing it to my Heritage
Funny you said Bedliner spray. I have 2 black Herculiner kits in my garage for my truck. Only need 1 and was thinking the same thing for a winter project....
Rides a Bimmer. It got stolen and when they replaced it 4 years ago they painted the new (to them) one John Deere Green and Yellow. No one has stoolen this one yet!
