Default PCV with map and no DynoTune

So I picked up a used PCV off the forum for $125. Hell of a deal. You think I will be alright for a couple months just running the map they email me? I don't want to waste money on the Dyno because I plan on getting a Rinehart 2 into 1 or V&H ProPipe in the near future. Should be fine right?

you will be fine as long as you downloaded the map that they reccomend you are verry close. i know a lot of guys that never get there bike dyno tuned. when you go to pcv web site you enter the bike you have the intake and the exhaust. and they give you the propper map for what you have. a lot of people say ohhhh you have to get them dyno tuned. well my question to them is do you think harley dyno tunes every bike they make no they put a general chip in each that is generic to all the bikes. and as we know each and every engine is different. so will you be ok 100% if you downloaded the right map.

nah, it should be fine, especially since you plan to do more work to the bike.

I had a PCIII installed on my '08, using the map FuelMoto downloaded to it, plus pipes and an new A/C. it runs so well, my mechanic advised me NOT to dyno it - said it would be a waste of money. of course, I don't race the bike nor am I interested in every HP I can squeeze out of it.

Matt25 is EXACTLY CORRECT. You'll run into people here who will say you have to in order to have peak performance, but for the couple of hundred bucks you spend to have your bike dyno'd, you may (OR MAY NOT) gain 2-3 extra horsepower. There are a lot of shops that have dyno's, and techs that don't know how to properly use them.

You'll be ok to run it like it is for a couple of months. But, once you swap pipes, you should consider having it tuned by a competent tuner.

If you look on line they have maps for almost every pipe & A/C combo.
I didn't get mine Dynoed until I switched cams.
