Whiplush,

Stupid question, but is that the stock fender? I thought the bolts for the rear mount on the luggage rack were farther apart. I've never removed it yet, but I'm curious.

Also, did you just use the Heritage style risers? I love that look. Used to have 39" beach bars on my '98 heritage.

Awesome looking ride man. Awesome.

Gregor,

Yes it is the stock fender, the luggage rack bolts toward the front of the bike are real close together so the fender bib covers them easily. I don't mind the luggage rack that bad and will probably put it back on when I need to use it but I hate the factory holes for the solo seat. Wish they would have just used the frame bolt holes like the Corbin seat does.

The risers are the stock ones. I took them to work and cut them down and then redrilled and tapped them. I did that because I really liked the top clamp because the logo on it matches the tank emblems and windshield logo. Like Skip says "Anything can be modified" and he's my hero, lol. I actually turned the bottom part of the risers around backwards so the bars would be a little further away from me. I'll post a detailed pic. I still need to run my wires inside the handlebars and when I do that I plan to make the risers a little shorter. Seems they look better the shorter they are.

To be honest I thought I had chosen the wrong road with my upgrades for a while there, with the short pipes and Corbin seat, but when I added the beach bars and chopped the risers it pulled it all together and now I love how it looks. I may drop the *** a little after I go on my trip in June. It would be sweet if that rear tire was tucked a little more. Thanks for the compliments!

Here's a better pic of the risers...

Great work man. I just may copy the chop bit. Love beach bars, but I think they would look a little wierd on the higher risers.

Hey Cran,
The bike is magnifico !!!! I wanted to get a softail deluxe, but couldn't afford it so I got a sporty instead. I love it. How would you say it compares on the long haul to a road king ?

Some pipes are a direct fit. If you are willing to change out the rear pegs, any softail pipe will fit. Reason is the way the deluxe mounts the pipe and footrest set together. If you are going to floorboards get a Heritage floorboard kit. works great.

Wheeler,

I have never road on an RK but from what I hear they ride very nice. I think of a deluxe as a cross between a Fat Boy and a Heritage Classic. I may be wrong but it works perfect for me. I tend to take shorter trip 50-200 miles, rallies, porker runs, and street crusin. It's awesome! But we know that whiplush is the man! What a nice lookin scoot!

Thanks cran but I'm probably the dummy. I'll take a chance on screwing something up just to make it look better.

I can't own anything without trying to make it look cool in some way. Heck look at my computer I built...

Thats a $150 aluminum case that I cut a hole in with a jigsaw.

Here's how they are now. They are about a 1/2 shorter than they were before. I ordered chrome washers to go
under them but haven't received them yet.
