If you don't get it up to operating temperature and burn off all the condensation, you're contaminating/polluting the oil.

Years ago before I had a heated garage I bought one of those inflatable "bubbles" and it kept my bike really nice, clean, and dry.

I use two big 24'' fans (to blow on the head area) and stat her up every 3-4 weeks and let her run 25-30 mins during winter, if were snowed in and cant get her out.. thats long enough to get the temp up.
Other than that I just wax her, change the oils, pour in fuel stab, tender on batt, put her on a lift in a heated garage.

On the years that I happen to remember to do it, I'll shoot a lil spray Seafoam in there, just to soften the carbon a bit for next year. But it is not one of them things that is a necessity. Dropping oil in? No Way!

I really don't see a benefit from running the bike if I am not gonna ride it, other than the thrill of hearing it?
Somethings are just better left alone. The bike has no idea how many weeks it sat unless you tell it.

The best way to winter a northern bike is to bring it to south Georgia and leave it at my house all winter. I will keep the oil warm in it for you.

Clean, wax, stabil, oil change, battery tender and cover (to keep the dust off). I'm just south of you in Oklahoma and we'll have days I can ride every month.

Hey Faast Ed, get that back rest yet?

Putting a light bulb under a cover sounds like a great way to burn down your garage to me...My garage is as cold as meat locker in the winter and sweats a good bit whent he temp changes. My bikes and car get a good amount of condensation on them. I don't worry about it and never have hand problems.
Right on Bro.. If you planning to ride.... RIDE or wipe evey inch of liquid. It a bike, so what if there a spot of rust, nicotine, beer.... need I say more?

Yezzir! Well technically no. LOL I ordered it, they confirmed shipment, due here within a day or two. I got the contoured one, without the studs. Looking forward to messing with it.

A huge thanks to YOU for the link! I've been looking forever for one that I could get without having to sacrifice my stock seat.
