So is it fine to use an air compressor or gas leaf blower to dry? I thought I heard not to use an air compressor because of the high pressure and particles that get blown at it (although it can't compare to just riding down the highway) and only to use an electric leaf blower (no idea why).
Just scored teh MR. Clean auto dry wash system from Big Lots at 3 of them for $12. Gonna give them a try this week. Supposedly you do not have to dry the bike and there will be no water spots. S100 is good so is Shout! laundry stain remover as a spray on cleaner. Wet bike, spray on cleaner, hit the engine with a paint brush and other hard to reach areas. Let sit for a few minutes and hose off thoroughly. Either blow dry with a leaf blower or compressor, or ride around the block a few times. Polish and repeat when it is dirty again. There is a detailing section here too. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/detailing-27/

I've got a filter and a water sep. on my compressor. The nozzle has a flow adjustment on it. I would not use a gas blower due to 2 stroke oil that tends to mist out of the air stream. Electric blowers work great though and are cheap.
PIG SPIT is great. Some Harley's around me carry it and some of the local shops do also. Online can get it $5 cheaper, works out if you buy 3 cans or more to save on shipping.
