Default broken pipe on fxstc

Ive got long drag pipes on my 90 softtail and the bottom pipe is cracking by the forward hanger is this common? My bike has motor work and vibrates quite a bit should I go for shorter pipes or do you think this is a freak thing. The pipes were on bike when I bought it so I dont even know the brand.I like the look of the long pipes but dont want to spend the cabbage on a new set and have the same problem. Just looking for some input.Thanxs.the bike was tipped on that side in a trailer once but I wouldnt think that would weaken the steel pipes!

How many miles on the bike, could just be a poor weld from the factory or just a stress fracture from the vibrations over time. Can you just weld up the crack on the mount until you can raise the $$$ for a new set. Maybe search Ebay for a 'gently' used set of pipes.

Do the pipes have heatshields? I ask because if not, you can take it to a place and have them weld the crack. It shouldn't cost more than 40 bucks. I guess you could still take it if it does but then it will be visible.

I was just at the auto supply store and I saw that they have high temp metal fillers and crack sealants. So you could go that route as well.

Just look for a good 2-1 pipe off of ebay. You can find them(like a kerker) for a buck and quarter. It'll sound better and you might gain a few ponies besides.
