Btw, I like your seat and actually have always preferred the look of the solo seats. However, because I anticipate doing some occasional 2 up riding, I need a seat with the passenger pillion.

I care about both, because if I am stuck at a traffic light, I like the secure feel of having my feet flat on the groud with a little bend in my legs. I am always watching my mirrors for somebody coming up too fast behind me, and want to be able to easily manuever my bike if I need to get out of trouble. Also, if I am riding for a long time in traffic, going from light to light, I sometimes find myself coming to a stop and letting the weight of the bike plop down too suddenly on my legs. The firmer I have my legs planted when I do this, the more in control of the bike I feel.

hard to tell from the pic, that looks like the smaller version 14 in seat. I had the 14 and i needed 17 for 2 reasons. more room for my fat @@ and because the front is wider it keeps my thighs from resting on the cylinder head when i stand so i dont burn. also feels cooler riding as more shield from heat
that is the 14"... I haven't found the 17"
I"ll keep lookin... thanks.

I did not like the stock seat either. I could not find a good universal seat. I ended up with two seats, a sundowner for trips and a sidekick for around town. The sundowner is a great seat for on the road, it sets you a little lower and is a lot more comfortable than the stock seat. However, it is big and ugly as hell. The sidekick looks good, it is low, and comfortable for a couple of hours.
I hope that helps.

Robert, would you happen to have a photo from the top of your bike so I can see the width of the seat? Also, would you know the model numbers of the Mustang seat that you said is the same design as your's, but a little narrower?
