Nwq 2011 Fatboy - Questions
I just bought a new 2011 Fatboy and I love it.
However, I have two questions. I asked these of the Service Manager at the dealership where I bought the bike and he said basically "No problem, don't worry about it."
Here are my questions:
1. At the curve where the pipes come out of the engine the pipes have turned blue. I've looked at other Harleys and I don't see this.
2. When I come home and put my bike in the garage there is a very strong gas smell. I've never had this before and I've owned 2 dozen bikes. It worries me because I park the bike just 8 feet from the pilot light in my gas water heater.
Anyone have any other answers to these questions. Should I be concerned?

Not an expert here but question #1) The heat shield may not be adjusted (position) properly to cover that area of the pipe. I have V&H pipes and you can see a little of the blue area of the pipe. (Picture may help) #2 Harley EFI system is set to run the bike a little rich.............run it too lean and the that could cause engine overheating.......damage your engine. I also noticed that when the weather is cold my garage smells of gas when I shut it off.
