V&H, Python or Samson???
Looking for some advice. I recently purchased a 2001 Fatboy that have Screaming Eagle Slip-on's. The pipes sound good but like the looks of a straight pipe. Narrowed my search down to three.....Sampson Big Guns 3, Python Staggered Duals and V&H Big Shot Staggered. I had Big Shot Shorts on a previous bike and they looked great "BUT" they were just "LOUD" and not the rumble I was looking for. Veiwing some info I've been reading, may have the same problem with the V&H Staggereds....I've seen the Python Staggered Duals on a lot of bikes over the weekend, looked good but didn't hear them. They're also a bit pricier than the others....The Samson Big Guns 3 are the most economical, look good (on my PC) but don't know how they sound...

RE: V&H, Python or Samson???
I would go down to local HD dealer and ask to listen to a couple of the bikes that are in service, that what I did prior to buying the pipes. I put the V&H Big Shots Staggered on my 06 Fatboy, and I love them. I also looked at the Big Radius Pipes (liked the look, but not the sound). I was looking for a low rumble, and the V&H Big Shots did that. I couldnt' be happier. Good luck
Thanks

RE: V&H, Python or Samson???
I stopped by the dealer and checked out the V&H Big Shot Staggered on a Softtail Classic. Sounded real good.
Since I already have the Stage 1 with Screaming Eagle air cleaner and EFI adjustment done on the bike, I thought
only thing I needed was to bolt the V&H pipes on and go. Then I read a post about V&H Long Shots and it stated that
the fueulpak (or other fuel management sytem) is required when going to the V&H pipes. Dealer said didn't require
the fuel management system since I had the stage 1 done..Any thoughts?????

You may be able to get away with just the stage 1 download. Try it out and see if there is any back firing or popping on deceleration. If you do get some it can be taken care of by adding a power commander, SERT, or any fuel management device of your choice. If you are really into performance get a fuel management device and throw it on a dyno for a custom map so that you can utilize every bit of tq. and hp. Welcome to the real sound of H.D.
