IMHO....I just bought a 2010 Heritage..I am not going to put the rails on this one..I think without the rails is a "cleaner" look!
I agree with Hogowner. I also have a 2010 Heritage and considered installing the rails because it gives it that nastalgic look but decided it looks cleaner without it, but I did decide to install the quick release sissybar and have the option of removing the rear seat pad also so I can have that solo look of the fiftys when I want it. After all, they didn't put sissy bars and rear seat pads on in the fiftys and that look is why I bought a Heritage in the first place.

I just put the rails on my '09 Heritage.
Question for those who did their own unstall; After I installed the rear rail, I notice the rear fender doesn't center on the rear wheel. There is more room between the tire and fender on the left side of the bike than on the right side. Is this normal? I followed the rear fender torque instructions from the service manual, including torquing, loosening and retorquing the front fender strut bolts. But there is definitely a misalignment of the fender and rear wheel.
Sorry I don't have pix yet. I'll try and upload ASAP.
Thanks for any wisdom you can share.
