Check Out my Front Wheel
#32
Well it took a damn near a month but I got my new wheel. And as a bonus the new wheel cured my decel wobble at 40mph!
The dealer did the usual courtesy cleaning and they did an outstanding job. Not a single scratch anywhere on the bike from work performed. They also slapped in a new oil tank due to a leaky weld on the original one. That's not a fun job right there.
I'm pleased with how this all worked out. A bit trying at times but hey, what the hell that's life.

I hadn't thought of that hdpearson but it sure makes sense. I thought it was a casting problem but I can see where not aligning things to begin with would result in the wheel I had.
Even my new wheel isn't perfect but it's 99.9% better than the old wheel. The hub turns true on the new one whereas the original wheel the hub was concentric as it turned.
My guess is every 2007+ Fatboy out there has a slightly imperfect wheel.
If HD had decided to machine the entire surface from hub to rim then every wheel would be perfect. I'd love to have my wheels machined that way.
I've thought of making a jig so I can spin the wheel and using coarse sandpaper sand out all of the rough casting. One day I might just do it but it will be a fair amount of work.
