Default New tire, dyna beads and front end wabble.

Well, I put my new front tire on this morning. Metzler ME 880. Wasn't too bad except for breaking the bead. I used Dyna beads for balancing. Be very patient, they get backed up easy. Put it back on the bike and went for a ride. The metzler rides smoother than the Dunlop , it seems to soak up the bumbs better. I had the same front end wobble that a lot of other people are having. Its gone now. Even when the engine is slowing the bike down. That is were mine wobbled. For the cost of a new tire and a few tools to change tire with, an hour and a half to do it, I'm a very happy camper. I know a new tire is not always the fix for the wobble, it was in my case and is worth considering.

What do you mean by "they get backed up"? Do the dynabeads go thru the vavle stem?

Yes. You get a little bottle and a clear plastic tube. Its plenty big enough, but the seem to gather in he valve stem and clog up the hole. I just bounced the tire on the ground a few times and things started moving again.

I have used Dyna Beads in all my bikes for about two years now. They really work great.

When installing the beads its best to put the valve stem in the 8 or 4 o'clock position and tap on the valve stem with something like a screw driver handle.

Just to make you guys life easier, instead of growing old while trying to put the beads into the valve stem, another option is to when installing a new tire is to put air in and pop the tire bead into the rim. Then break the bead at one spot and pour the beads into the tire from there. Re inflate and done. I'd like to caution anybody planning on using Dynabeads to use soap on the tire very sparingly. Too much and it gets inside the tire, sticking the beads into clumps. They won't do the intended job if they can't roam freely inside the tire. I actually had one that they threw the tire into an imbalance condition due to too much soap inside the tire.

I've heard of using something like an engraver and holding it up against the valve stem to vibrate the beads into the tube. If you don't have an engraver, your old lady may have something to use in it's place.
