Bike died today....elecrtical??? 03 Softtail Standard
03 Softtail Stardard (FI), 7500 miles
I was riding along at about 35mph, bike just died, like the key was turned off. Wife picked me up in my truck, bike is back home...
Bike cranks over just fine, no fire...
Turn key on, I can hear the fuel pump humming (stops after a sec or two, like normal), the small red engine light goes off (like it's supposed to), as well as the small red key icon (alarm?)
The oil light is on (goes off while the enging cranks).
All seems normal...
Again... Bike cranks over just fine, no fire...
Where should I start checking?
Is there a kickstand switch? Oil perssuer switch? Fuel pressuer switch??
Any ideas???
Going to the shop tommorrow... I'd LOVE to figure this out myself, need help...
Thanks, Guys

start with the basics.
does it have spark?
is it getting fuel?
to check for spark - pull a plug from a cylinder, put the plug wire on the plug, lay electrode against fins on cylinder head & crank the motor. you should see a healthy spark jump between the plug & head.
i can only tell you how to check fuel flow on a carbed bike. as i know almost nothing about fi.
