Nice to have one but I sold my windshield 2 weeks after I bought my Fatboy.

I put a windshield on my softail thinking I would only use it on longer trips... but ended up leaving it on. I went with a windvest. I still prefer the look without, but I found my riding changed after the windvest. Now I get out of the city as fast as possible and enjoy the highways.

That is true, I don't avoid the highways or rain nearly as much as I used to. That means I'm doing a lot more riding.

yeh, that was the "Harleys with no soul" thread. Wasn't missing any of my old scoots, just wasn't feeling connected to this one.
I'm gonna put a National Cycles lightbar on it as well I think.

I guess I was just kinda afraid to mess it with much...had a lot of people tell me a shield would look awfull, those weren't made for that, etc etc. On a lot of the shields out there, I do agree. The HD ones are too tall, and don;t really compliment the bike. I just thought this one really fit the bike well.
I guess you could say this is by far the best looking bike I've ever owned, and I didn't wanna screw up the looks with some things I'd like to do to it.

so far, so good.

This is the lightbar I'm thinking of getting:

You'll probably take it off and put it on many times trying to decide if which way you like it best. I love riding both ways and put it on when I feel like it and leave it off when I don't feel like it. It's very nice to have to long trips though I'll tell you what.
