Wont start. Puzzled...

could be clogged fuel filter from some old fuel that came loose. old fuel is like rubber and if it came loose it could clog the fuel line. easy to tell on carb model. remove the fuel line and if there then drop the fuel bowl. you said you see it squirt gas in the carb then it must be bad gas and again it could be old gas that mixed with the new gas. try some berryman b12 cleaner in the tank. about 1oz per gallon and shake and drain some thru the carb bowel

Have you tried to pull off the fuel line at the carb, turned the fuel on and seen gas flow normally?
If it does put the line back on, pull off the float bowl and turn the gas on again.
Bet you it doesn't flow too well or at all cause filling the tank knocked the junk and sedement in the tank loose and some debris got passed the filter and is clogging up the carb's float needle.
If it sits long enough it will flow enough fuel for you to see it come out through the accelerator pump, but its not going to flow enough fuel to get it running or keep it going.

You may have gotten a chunk of crud in the main jet of the carb.
You know that it will run on starting fluid for just a few seconds. Now lets try some gasoline. If you have a squirt gun for oil, rinse it out with gasoline and fill it about half way with gasoline. Squirt a couple of pumps into the carb with the butterfly open then crank it. It should run for at least a few seconds.
If it runs for a short time and I think it will, its time to pull the carb and have it cleaned.
It could be the float needle valve is stuck shut. If so, no gas will be getting to the carb or at least not enough for it to run. Pull the gas line off the carb and spray the inlet to the carb with carb cleaner. This can possibly unstick a needle valve.
