Wheely,
Where did you get the RK Custom bags from? Do you have a part number for them? My wife is basically wanting the same setup you have. she now has the Deluxe saddle bags but they don't hold enough and she wants bigger saddlebags. What exhaust system did you have to go with?

Thanks,

Darrell

These were installed using a Cycle Visions Bagger Tail mount kit.

Can the cyclevision mounts be made to be used with a quick disconnect system? I like the volume of the hard leather covered bags and the fiberglass style but like to ride my bike bagless.

Phantomryder,

The short answer is No! But, it could probably be made to work if you are willing to try to make it a detachable mount. There are (3) attach points on each side for the Bagger Tail mounts and the bags attach to the mounts using (2) dzus fasteners (like the stock ones).

Hey jcap20 love the bike. Im riding a 98 heritage that is very nostalgic. Im looking for hard bag applications and an aftermarket fairing for tunes. Yours looks great. Do you mind telling me what applications you chose for your bags and your fairing. Are you happy with them? Im running samson fishtails and im worried they may get in the way of the hard bags. Thanks.

Don't know about others, but the CycleVisions setup can be removed without damaging any paint. Its not mounted to where it touches your fender in any way. If you use thier filler strips, add Glue when you install the rubber edge. The rubber on the wifes Deluxe came off within a month, so I replaced them with strips made for car doors, and added some silicon adhesive.

Here is her bike with the hard bags..

it all depends on the length of the fishtails you have on your bike now. if they are 33" then they will clear or you can order the 33" and they will bolt right on to what you have.
thank you,

The idea of having hard saddle bags is sweet but for me I prefer a softail all stripped down. If I wanted hard bags I would just get a Roadking. Just my opinion though.
