I also put the OEM flush mount on my 06 Fatboy. I love the look and function. If anyone is using their gas gauge for anything other than reference, good luck. Most of them are not very accurate. As far as installation, it took about two hours. The hardest part was running the extra wire for the low fuel light. This is only necessary on the fuel injected models. Firefox was right when he says to have a service manual. Makes the job much easier.Name: Harleymar007.jpg

I have them on my FB and love it. Mine seems to be pretty accurate. Here is a link to a thread that has a lot of info on this setup including installation instructions.

Hope it helps

Is there any adjustment to these things?
My gauge shows low fuel at 2/3 full, and I'm a little pissed..

You have to adjust it by bending the fuel level sending rod. But if you do it bend it just a little at a time.
Worst part is it will take some time and you have to remove everything out of the tank to get to it.
Have a service manual.

I installed it on my '06 ST Std. EFI. I don't see where the extra lead is necessary. When the fuel is low, the last LED goes red and starts blinking WITHOUT the lead connected. The dash indicator lights up also.

Is there something else that's supposed to happen when the fuel gets low with the recommeded installation? My HD service tech didn't know. They haven't installed any yet.

Never mind. It became obvious that the lead prevents the stock low-fuel indicator from coming on when the tank is FULL.

It is required.

Now the problem is the accuracy... that's another problem.

Sorry it has taken me soo long to reply, I have been really busy with work and actually just got back from Colorado through the mountains a few days ago. I love the gauges. They are just about as accurate as the stock gauge (which isn't really that accurate). I thought there was something wrong at first because the red light would come on when there was still 3 blue lights left on the LED label. Then I realized, that as the level starts going down, the red light will come on then go back to the blue lights just to let you know that the level is getting low. My dad and I love the gauges.

The install was pretty easy. I didn't use a service manual but I am pretty good with electrical stuff so I was able to figure out were everything went and how to wire up the gauge. Like I said it only took me about 30 mins on my dads but it took me around an hour on mine since it was the first one I had ever done.

My red light starts blinking when I have a little over a gallon left.....I normally just use the trip meter for accuracy....I like the flush mount mostly for the looks and easy cleaning/waxing......
