Default First time buyer and still no bike :(

Well the bike was purchased Aug 5 and for those of you that have been following my posts I still do not have my bike.....
Went to speak with the guys at the dealer yesterday and I think we have come to an acceptable compromise. I will be getting a Vance and Hines staggered black Big Shot exhaust, race tuner, and high flow air cleaner for employee cost and labor at half the rate. I really was not to excited about sinking another $1300 into a bike I have yet to ride but I guess I couldn't pass up that kind of a discount. Dealership has been great but the custom shop has proved to be nothing but incompetent.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe you will get your bike soon and be able to enjoy at least a little riding time. Glad you are getting something at least for your trouble. Hope this story has a happy ending for ya, and soon!!

That whole deal with the Effed up bars, paint issues, and leaks....

Then you spend another $1300.00!!!

Heres your award for friendliest most understanding customer in the known universe!!:

That bike is pretty unique and cool...I can see why you were willing to hold out and stay patient. I wouldnt have...But then again thats why you got the trophy and the Uber customized Bonez' and I got....

An old Night Train

Ya' gotta post a slew of photos once you get that thing outta the dealers grip. Thats a one of a kind bike that should give the Bones Boys n' Gals? some good ideas of what can happen when you get crazy with paint, different seats and lotss of time on your hands....As you have been very accomodating on that deal!

Tell them you want a loaner bike while you wait. $1300 is not a bad price for that but it's at employee price, not dealer's cost, so they are still making some profit on it. Tell them you want somthing to ride!

Don't they have a spare fuel tank they can put on while you wait for the custom shop to repaint yours? Wouldn't look nice, but at least you can ride.

Thanks guys. I guess my understanding of the predicament they are in comes from the fact that I work at a Car Dealership. The ball has been dropped repeatedly by the Custom guys not the dealer itself. When the tank came back it was a different color then the fenders. The dealer has already ordered and installed engine guards and the discount I was offered on the pipes total up over a grand of comps on this deal so far. Is is irritating... yes, disappointing... terribly, anyones fault at the dealer... no. Everyone I have dealt with has been very apologetic. I may have been able to bitch my way into a free exhaust and the dealer would have had to eat the cost but I didn't want to press my luck. I look at the books at my own job everyday and see how this economy is affecting me and my co-workers...(I am the last man standing after the layoffs in my department last week). If I was willing to settle for a Crossbones that looked like everyone elses then I would have my bike but I wanted something different. The dealer has offered a loaner but I have passed that up. I am not to excitedc about riding anything that isn't mine and I don't know how it has been maintained.

As far as me taking my business back to these guys I have no reason not to. The gauranty on this bike is from the dealer. It is in writing that when I finally take delivery of my bike that if there are any problems with the paint in the future then we will mutually agree on a custom shop to do the repairs at the dealers expense.

P.S. I'll proudly take the award for being patient as I am usually the first one to bite your head off and leave you feeling as if you need a band-aid on your rear!
